David Harris
Managing Director/Senior Supervisor
David has been a bush regenerator since 1992, holds an Advanced Certificate in Urban Horticulture, a Double Certificate in Bush Regeneration and is currently completing a BSc in Environmental Science. He also holds a Chemcert, First Aid Certificate and an OH&S Green Card.
Michael Houston BSc
Senior Supervisor
Michael has been in bush regeneration since 1995, holds a BSc in Conservation Technology and a Double Certificate in Bush Regeneration. He is currently supervising many reserves in Northern Sydney including an award winning community bush restoration project and another long-term bush regeneration project which received a Warringah Garden Award in 2003 and was the recipient in 2004 of an Outstanding Community Service Award He also holds a Chemcert, current First Aid Certificate and an OH&S Green Card and Bushcare Supervisor Certificate.
Daryl Rickards
Senior Supervisor
Daryl completed a Double Certificate (Bush Regeneration and Supervision) at TAFE in 1994 after a successful career of more than 20years in the computer industry. He was one of the first two members of staff when ABR opened for business in 1995. Daryl holds a Chemcert, a current Senior First Aid Certificate and is responsible for the day to day management of Hornsby and Kuringai Bush Regeneration Contracts.
Murray Smith
Human Recources Manager
Murray came to bush regeneration after a successful career in IT. With experience in bush regeneration dating back to 1996 , Murray holds a Bush Regeneration Certificate Level 2, an OH&S Greencard and a current First Aid Certificate. In addition to running the staff hire, Murray also fields staff queries, conducts all the programming and keeps track of the ABR budget.
Murray has distinguished himself as a Bev Blacklock Awardee (1996) and winner of the Alan Marshall Medal 2004/5.
Claire Wheeler
Administration Manager
Claire is the Administration Manager at ABR and has been with ABR since 2006. Claire's role encompasses compiling monthly and annual reports, supervising sites, using her specialist skills to write tenders and quotes, performing general office tasks and fielding staff questions and queries . Claire holds a Bachelor of Environmental Management degree and has completed the Conservation Land Management Course at Ryde TAFE in 2007.
Drew Thomason
Senior Supervisor
Drew joined ABR in 2005. He brings with him a wealth of experience and skills. He has been involved in the bush regeneration for about 10 years. Drew completed the Bush Regen cert II in 1996 and is currently completing cert IV and cert III LP&W (lands, parks & wildlife). Drew Manages the Burnt Bridge Creek in Manly Council LGA and Nareen Ck wetland in Narrabeen as part of his ABR portfolio.
